#37 – Tucker Max and Why His Company Wants to Write a Book For You

Bestselling author Tucker Max has changed his image over the years. He’s most well-known for writing about getting drunk and hooking up with random girls, but he’s since turned his knowledge about book publishing into a massively successful business.

While he doesn’t think everyone has a book in them, he believes those that do might never get it published. Whether you hate writing, your intimidated by the traditional publishing process, or you simply don’t have the time to do it, his newest company (Book in a Box) solves all of these problems for you.

In about 12 hours of your time, you can go from an idea to a finished book that your target audience will rave about.

Listen to our conversation as we touch on a variety of topics. He explains the transition period between law school and becoming an author, he talks about how the Book in a Box business idea came about, and we also discuss how you can get paid for doing something you love. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this episode and be sure to subscribe to the podcast here!

RWR-023: Michael Carbone on Being an Ironman & Hosting Successful Webinars

Today’s guest is Michael Carbone. He’s originally from Canada where he went down the typical path of going to college and getting a corporate job. You know, just doing the standard 9-5 grind that so many people do. Everything seemed great from the outside, but inside, he was feeling unfulfilled. Unfortunately, most people stay in this position their whole lives and never make a change. But Michael was different.

He’s going to share his story about how an Ironman race changed his life, how teaching others to win more at online poker was a gamechanger, why webinars are so lucrative, as well as using fear to force you to take more action in your life. And towards the end, he talks about traveling to Paris a few months ago… the day after the terrorist attacks. He elaborates on how that experience can relate to business, as well as showing you how fragile life is and why you should live your life to the fullest everyday.

This is definitely one of my favorite conversations so far, and I know you’re going to take several things away from this episode. Enjoy!

Featured books:

Stop Chasing Influencers by Kimanzi Constable and Jared Easley. I took a quote out of that book and dug deeper into it in the last episode. Since then, I finished the book and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to start an online business. It gives you so many new ideas that you can use with your podcast, online course, online coaching business, e-commerce website, and more. If you want to check it out, just go to riskwithoutregret.com/influencers.

Will It Fly by Pat Flynn. As you probably know, I’m a big fan of Pat as I’ve mentioned him in several of the episodes, so it was a no-brainer to add this book to my Amazon wishlist. About a week ago, I jumped on a Skype call with my friend Jason Reaves from the Live Life Loudly podcast. After helping him for a couple hours, he said he wanted to thank me by sending me this book. Thanks again Jason, it was much appreciated!

So it showed up a few days later and I started reading it instantly. It’s already adding a lot of value but the coolest part is the free online companion course that comes with it. This book is all about testing your next business idea at the beginning so you don’t waste a lot of time and money. Most people just build something and hope people want it. You know that old quote, “If you build it, they will come.” That’s terrible biz advice and that’s why their business usually fails. So if this sounds awesome to you, just visit riskwithoutregret.com/willitfly and order this book today!

RWR-012: Eric Zimmer Goes From Drug Addiction to Fortune 500 Consulting

On this episode, Eric Zimmer explains how he has always had the entrepreneur mindset. From a paperboy to owning a small landscaping company to working in various small startups to starting his own companies and so much more.

But all that could have been cut short as he developed a nasty drug problem early on. Luckily for him, he was able to kick that habit and create a lot of success for himself!

At the beginning of 2014, he launched The One You Feed Podcast, and by the end of the year, he was voted one of the Best of iTunes Podcasts of 2014. But it doesn’t stop there, he also does e-commerce consulting for large businesses on huge projects.

I’m excited to share this story with you today, I think you’re really gonna find it motivating and relatable! So without further ado, here’s Eric…

Here it is, the first interview on the podcast. The first of many to come! I’d like to introduce Brandt Fuqua (pronounced few-quay) from Johnson City, Tennessee.

Listen the whole way through and gain some valuable business tips and hopefully you’ll find that motivation that gets you to take action!
